Shane Winchell Obituary, Death – The sudden passing of Shane M. Winchell, 30, of Queensbury, on the evening of December 15, 2023, has left his family and community in deep sorrow. Born on March 25, 1993, in Glens Falls, Shane was a proud lifelong resident of the area, graduating from Queensbury High School in 2011. The son of Harold L. and Janie M. Winchell, he was a loving father to his cherished children, Aaliyah, Jacob, Ariannah, Arabella, Shane Jr., and Penelope.
Shane was not only a devoted family man but also someone who found joy in simple pleasures. His interests included basketball, video games, and shooting pool with friends. However, above all else, he treasured spending quality time with his children. His passing has created a void that will be felt by those who knew him well.
Shane is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Harold Winchell, maternal grandparents, Thomas W. and Patricia E. Clark, aunt Rose Mary Winchell, and uncle Joe Winchell. Despite the profound losses, he leaves behind a legacy of love and family bonds that will endure. Survived by his parents, Harold and Janie Winchell, his girlfriend Kayla Stimpson, sister Justina Holcomb, brother Joseph L. Winchell, and grandmother Virginia L. Winchell, Shane’s memory will live on through the hearts of those who loved him.
A funeral service to celebrate Shane’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Carleton Funeral Home, Inc., located at 68 Main Street in Hudson Falls. Following the service, Shane will be laid to rest at Pine View Cemetery on Quaker Road in Queensbury. Friends and well-wishers have the opportunity to pay their respects from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the funeral home. The community joins together in mourning the loss of a beloved individual and offering support to Shane’s grieving family during this difficult time.
